Legendary jazz keyboardist and composer Chick Corea passed away Tuesday, Feb. 9, 2021, at 79. Members of his team reported his death Thursday on social media. He was diagnosed with a rare form of New York – Chick Corea, the American jazz composer and electric keyboard trailblazer whose visionary fusion work stretched the boundaries of genre, has died of a rare form of cancer. He was 79 His death was announced in a post on his Facebook page, which stated that Corea had died of “a rare form of cancer which was only discovered very recently.” No further details about his death have thus far been released.
